Scott Carson Error – England v Croatia 2007
All of England are spending this summer thinking of higher things than football, as the side dramatically failed to qualify for Euro 2008. While Scott Carson is hardly responsible for the five game plus period of melancholy from the England team as a whole, that does not make this error any the more pleasant on the eye:
A truly awful moment for any keeper, with lasting consequences for many involved, no doubt.
In mitigation the ball did bounce just in front of Carson, though he really should have been a little more alert, and at least dived forward into the ball’s flight. In my humble opinion!
