I really can’t say I ever thought Barthez was particularly impressive – from the first time I remember seeing him play in Marseille’s somewhat ill fated 1993 European Cup run to the end of his career a couple of years ago.
Definitely one where we could debate the “lucky to play behind some outstanding defences” for a long time.
