More to Come

April 17, 2008 By: admin Category: Site News No Comments →

Apologies for the quiet spell since Feb!

All manner of things have conspired against us and meant we have a load of great posts written, but no-one to put them onto the internet - don’t panic, there’s a load more coming this weekend, and next week. You literally won’t be able to move for goalkeeping stories, videos and info!

In the mean time, if you’re bored and lacking something to do, I can personally recommend Bob Wilsons book “You Have to be crazy” as a light read. It really shows how you can get on in football despite the lack of an early start (i.e. getting a university education as well!). Also demonstrates that good goalkeeping is a many varied thing - there’s more than one way to skin a cat, and stop a ball… as long as the goal is not breached, you are effective. And that’s the bottom line.

Keep em out.

Goalkeeping Museum - Feburary Newsletter

February 05, 2008 By: admin Category: Site News No Comments →

Hi!

It’s only been five short months since a few of us dreamed up the notion of an online Goalkeeping Museum, and already we’re starting to see the website take shape, and some really good contributions from everyone involved.

This month, for no real reason other than we’ve started to get asked a few questions, we’ve decided to release a newsletter of sorts (this is it, don’t worry - we don’t want your email address or any of that nonsense) - here it is!

New Additions

This month, we’ll be adding a “Great Mistakes” section to the site - though it pains us to do it - it will be similar in nature to the “Great Saves” bit, only less inspirational (well, unless you count a “you don’t want to do that” moment as inspiration!). This is a s a direct response to your requests.

Speaking of which, we’re also going to add a better contact form, in case any of you would like to get in touch with us for any reason - for example, we’ve had some expressions of interest from a couple of people who would like to write for this site, we’d like to hear from more of you (its hard work running a website with just two or three people to do all the writing!). We’ve also has inquiries from people interested in quoting us, interviewing us, or otherwise hearing our thoughts on certain things. That is fine too, you’ll soon have a proper form to fill out.

Let us know what you think

On a similar note, it really helps us if you can keep saying what you like / don’t like about this website - use the comments boxes if you like - as we want to know what you enjoy or find a little dull or boring (and that includes our writing style too - we’re not journalists at heart, we’re goalkeepers, so we only learn through training and feedback).

That’s it for now - and you thought I’d drone on for ages.

Enjoy our site - we enjoy filling it up with great goalkeeping info.

Feel free to read, share and enjoy your and our favourite goalkeeping memories, videos, pictures and stories on this site. There’s no fees involved, and anyone can join.
